There’s something magical about capturing sunshine in yarn—and the Sunshine Wall Hanging does exactly that. This vibrant tapestry crochet design radiates warmth and joy, making it the perfect addition to any cosy corner or creative space.
About the Pattern
Worked in tapestry crochet using simple single crochet stitches, this wall hanging features three glowing suns in bold orange hues. The design is worked flat from the bottom up and finished with a soft fringe and a sturdy dowel rod for hanging. Whether you're a seasoned crocheter or an adventurous beginner, the clear chart, written instructions, and photo tutorial make this a satisfying and accessible project.

What You’ll Need
DK weight yarn (the photos use Cygnet’s Marshmallow Pie in “Red Hot Rio”)
3.5mm and 4mm crochet hooks
A 20-25cm dowel rod
Scissors and a yarn needle for finishing touches
What Is Tapestry Crochet?
Tapestry crochet is a colorwork technique where you carry two or more strands of yarn at once, switching between them to create graphic designs. The unused yarn is worked into the stitch and hidden inside, creating a neat, reversible fabric without floats or loose strands.

Tips for Tapestry Crochet Beginners
If you're just starting out, here are a few helpful tips:
Use high-contrast colours for crisp, clear motifs.
Switch colours cleanly by changing yarns during the final yarn-over of the stitch.
Control your tension—tight enough to cover the carried yarn, but loose enough to keep the fabric flexible.
Practice with simple shapes to build confidence before tackling complex charts.
Consider a colour-coded chart for easier readability.
Block your work for a polished, professional finish.
