Part 2 is much more sedate than the hectic multi-stitch kick-off of part 1. One of the most relaxing repeats for me as a crocheter is always the beautifully simple double crochet and treble and this part has them all in abundance!

The relaxing rounds of part 2 work up lazily with a few colour changes here and there and don’t present too much of a challenge for any skill level. They’re perfect for just letting your hook flow through the stitches and catching up on all the Christmas telly.

The rounds are notably slower to compete than the previous part with fewer rounds in this part to compensate. My lovely husband gave me a beautiful Furls crochet hook for Christmas and the double crochets and trebles just slipped over the smooth gold of the head so easily that before I knew it, I was through another round...and another.

The colours of part 2 are mainly pinks and whites, but I found myself impatient to get to the green colour changes (they're rare in part 2!) that set up the contrast against the pinks and make the 'Sacred Love' colourway so pretty.

I must admit, I’ve cheated a little with weaving in the ends – there are so many! The pattern calls for you to fasten off and weave in ends at every colour change, but I’ve been leaving them and weaving everything into place at the end of each part – let’s be honest, just one more round is more important than dealing with ends!!

Part 3 update coming soon...
